Controlling Lawn Weeds
There's something soothing about seeing an even expanse of green grass that just seems to lower our blood-pressure a bit. And to some people, when that expanse is broken up by something growing where it shouldn't be growing, it also seems to raise it a notch or two. Power lawn Care uses a true weed control approach. We do not spot spray weeds, but rather give your entire lawn a blanket (or protective shield if you wish) that prevent weeds like crabgrass from developing. 3 basic types of lawn weeds For lawns, there are three basic types of weeds: (1) grassy type weeds (2) grass-like weeds (3) broad-leafed weeds Each require a different method for control. Our comprehensive weed-control program will tackle all of your weed problems. |
Common lawn weeds
CRABGRASS: Crabgrass is a warm season annual grass which grows best in the heat of midsummer when desirable lawn grasses are often semi-dormant and offer little or no competition. Crabgrass over winters as seed, comes up about mid-May or later, and is killed by the first hard frost in fall. Our pre- and post-emergent weed controls will effectively put a stop to crabgrass before it can get a foot-hold in your lawn. DANDELIONS: Dandelions are broadleaf weeds and are a persistent weed problem. Each seed head of a mature plant produces thousands of weed seeds that float easily in the breeze. So if anyone in your immediate vicinity has dandelions, you can count on you having them too. The good news is that we can treat for dandelions any time of the year, whenever they appear. |
